Residents of Melbourne, Australia awoke on Tuesday morning to a giant inflatable version of Rio De Janeiro's famous Christ the Redeemer statue floating over the city.
But this version had adopted Australia's national football team, the Socceroos, and was urging fans to support their team with the slogan '#keepthefaith'.
The stunt was organised by betting company Sportsbet, who said in a statement that the Aussie team need some "divine intervention to win a single match at the World Cup".
Local media reported that religious groups were unhappy with the stunt.
It took aeronautical engineers, designers and seamstresses five months to create the balloon which is 46 metres high - taller than the actual Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio.
