Russia unveils the medals for next year’s Winter Olympics in St. Petersburg during the 11th SportAccord International Convention. A record number of medals have been produced in honor of Russia’s national identity and character - an estimated 1,300, reported The Voice of Russia.

Following the tradition, medals are presented about a year before the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
A record-breaking number of competitions will take place during the Winter Games in Sochi, meaning a record number of medals will be produced.

1,300 medals are made with their own unique design, distinguishing them from medals given away in previous Olympic and Paralympic Games, emphasizing Russia's national character and identity.
