An East Texas woman let her 7-year-old drives her car because she was too drunk, police say, reported Dallas News (US).
Carrie Lynn Fink, 41, was arrested last week in Lufkin on charges of child endangerment and driving while intoxicated with a child passenger. She has been released from the Angelina County jail after posting $4,000 bond.
According to an arrest-warrant affidavit obtained by the Houston Chronicle, police responded to the scene after a Honda CR-V crashed into a fence.
Fink told officers that she let her 7-year-old son sit in her lap and help drive the SUV, police said.
An employee at a burger joint confirmed that account, saying she had seen the child in Fink's lap in the restaurant's parking lot before the crash, according to the affidavit.
Fink has been arrested a number of times in Texas, often on drug charges. In 2013, she was sentenced to two years of deferred-adjudication probation after pleading guilty to a child-endangerment charge.
