Welcome to the not-so-brave New World’s ‘No Cross Red Cross’:
“The Belgian branches of the international aid organisation received an email from the Provincial Committee of the Red Cross in Liège to remove all crucifixes.” (Breitbart) – reported Canada Free Press.
Why would an international organization riding on the name ‘Red Cross ‘remove all crucifixes from its Belgian branches?
André Rouffart, president of the Red Cross in Verviers, said: “We were asked to respect the principles of the Red Cross”, and not to distinguish between race or religious belief.”
In other words, the Red Cross kept afloat by public donations has capitulated to the dictates of the Politically Correct. And that has nothing to do with “not distinguishing between race or religious belief”.
“Mr. Rouffart said there had been pushback from volunteers and other members on the issue but downplayed the issue, saying: “I think it’s a storm in a teacup.” (Breitbart)
If you really think “it’s a storm in a teacup”, then fight it, Mr. Rouffart, this cup, after all, only holds tea and not poison.
“Several volunteers spoke to Belgian broadcaster RTL and expressed hostility to the move, with one saying: “Let things remain as they are. We used to say ‘Christmas holidays’, now it’s ‘winter holidays’. The Christmas market in Brussels has become the ‘Winter Pleasures’.” (Brietbart)
“For a certain part of the population — because of the Muslims — the crosses were removed in the Red Cross houses and, more particularly, in that of Verviers,” the volunteer added.
“The order follows the proposed removal of a cross in France which was located above a statue of Saint John Paul II in Ploërmel, Brittany. The move sparked outrage among many and led to the Polish and Hungarian government offering to take the cross.
“Such measures must be regarded as attempts to do away with the continent’s civilisation and culture,” commented Hungarian foreign minister Péter Szijjártó.
“In Ireland, Catholic priest Father Desmond O’Donnell has called on Christians to abandon the word ‘Christmas’ entirely, saying that the commercialisation of the holiday had replaced the original Christian meaning.”
An absurd resolution, Fr. O’Donnell. Banning the word ‘Christmas’ entirely, is the equivalent of cutting off one’s nose to spite one’s face.
While the progressive-left continues to ban both cross and Christmas, take a gander at what European leaders are doing to protect their masses from Islamic attack:
“While old Christmas traditions are being replaced, others have emerged — including anti-terror barriers wrapped in Christmas wrapping paper and bright red bows in the city of Bochum, Germany, to prevent radical Islamic terror attacks like the Berlin Christmas market massacre of December 2016 when a large truck stormed through a Christmas market in the German capital of Berlin killing 12 people and injuring many others. (Breitbart)
“Anti-terror barriers “lovingly wrapped” in Christmas paper to disguise their grim purpose are springing up across Germany.
“Suddenly, overnight, they were there: huge Christmas parcels in Bochum’s city center; wrapped in pretty wrapping paper with stars, firs — and as a topping a red bow,” reads a Welt report on the new “decorations” in the North Rhine-Westphalia city of Bochum.
“It was important for us to fit the ugly barriers into the beautiful overall ensemble,” explained a Bochum Marketing spokesman.
“That’s why we wrapped the 1.2-ton sandbags and provided them with red ribbons.”
“Such objects, designed to deter the vehicle ramming attacks which have become popular among Islamist terrorists in recent years, have been dubbed #MerkelLego — after the German chancellor and the resemblance of some of the more common designs to the children’s building block toy.
Any Western leader who believes that pretty paper and big red bows will deter vehicle ramming attacks is more a child than those who play with building block toys.
Placing big red bows at shopping centers are akin to marking targets for terrorists.
Meanwhile, if the Red Cross intends to disassociate itself from the Cross of Jesus Christ, it should consider re-naming itself after what it has become: The ‘No Cross Red Cross’.
