3 children are pulled to safety by brave rescuers

Three children were pulled out of a sinking car caught in flood water just moments before it went under.
Scott Swinford was driving underneath a railway bridge in Hockley when his car was caught by fast-flowing flood water.

Local residents Hannah King and Emma Burles saw their car was starting to sink and jumped into the flood water to save them.
They managed to pull all of them to safety just twenty seconds before the entire car was submerged by water.

The incredible footage of the rescue was filmed by local resident Andy Cause who uploaded it to YouTube.

Much of Essex was hit by severe flooding yesterday after 50mm of rainfall in six hours.
Essex Fire and Rescue answered more than 400 calls for help as the result of floods.
