To boost sale, a liquor vendor in China has come up with a onetime offer which promises lifetime supply of alcohol with a single payment, reported Zeenews India.
The product on offer is “Baijiu”, the most common alcoholic drink in rural China made of grain. The distilled spirit packs a punch of 52 percent alcohol.
The Chongqing-based e-commerce site Tmall.com has advertised the “Singles' Day sale offer” on a onetime purchase of 11,111 yuan ($1,674).
On payment of the said amount, a customer would receive 12 packets of Baijiu every month until his death, the Global Times reported.
"If a customer passes away within five years, their immediate family can continue to enjoy the service after providing valid identification," a store representative was quoted as saying.
The store also urges customers to update their contact information annually.
With the arrival of "Beginning of Winter" on Nov. 7, a solar term on the traditional Chinese lunar calendar, the brewing of rice wine in Shaoxing City began. This means "winter begins"on the solar calendar and local people believe the period from now to "spring begins" is the best for making wine.
Rice wine is a pillar industry in Shaoxing, where 74 rice wine companies and more than 11,000 workers produce more than 600,000 tons of rice wine every year. Rice wine here is exported to more than 40 countries and regions, and the brewing technique was listed as one of the national intangible cultural heritages in 2006.
