Duchess Kate beats Prince William in boat race

The Duchess of Cambridge twice beats her husband Prince William during a friendly race in America's Cup sail boats, in waters off Auckland, New Zealand, reports AP.

Kate looked very experienced as she won two races piloting an America's Cup sailing boat.

She punched the air with delight on both occasions after winning.

The couple are said to have a competitive streak and the victories were revenge for the Duchess who lost to the Duke in a dragon boat race during their tour of Canada in 2011.

The tour is Prince William, Catherine and Prince George's first official overseas one together, at the age of just eight months, and it is to celebrate Australia and New Zealand's success in technology, tourism, sports and art, as well as commemorating the start of the First World War.
