Former US President George H. W. Bush was invited to the Texas A&M University campus to visit the Department named after him.
When he entered the lobby in the building on Texas A&M's campus, he was welcomed with a polite round of applause by the hundred or so milling around who were gathered in the room.
Bush was visiting at the Bush School of Government and Public Service with his wife Barbara at his side and waved to the full room of visitors, faculty and students on Texas A&M University's campus.
One student in the crowd shouted, "Yee haw!" and the country song "Boot Scootin' Boogie" blared in the lobby. The student began line dancing and one other joined him.
It was the beginning of a flash mob on campus planned by students. More and more students joined the country line dance while the Bushes smiled and laughed.
Warren Chalklen, a master of public service administration student said, "He always surprises us and now we got to surprise him. We've had a great time creating this flash mob and we hope he enjoyed it as much as we enjoyed putting it together."
The students had been planning the presentation for Bush since fall 2012, once it was confirmed that he would be visiting A&M's campus.
