An American Legion baseball game in Juneau, Alaska on Sunday was delayed by a giant bear strolling leisurely and ominously just beyond the outfield fence.
Alaska is terrifying. But robbing that bear of his right to watch a baseball game is only going to make it angry. The goal is to placate the bear, maybe with an elegantly turned 4-6-3 double play or a perfectly executed squeeze play.
Denied baseball, the bear returned to its rightful place in the woods, where it probably mauled something.
