Checks on vehicles at the Gibraltar border by Spanish authorities did not break EU laws, the European Commission has ruled - reports BBC.
Spain imposed strict checks at the border during the summer amid a row over the creation by Gibraltar of an artificial reef in disputed waters.
Following complaints, the commission assessed the legality of the checks on 25 September.
The commission has made recommendations to avoid border delays.
