World record kiteboard flying from 240 meter

Jesse Richman, 2013's Red Bull King of the Air, 2008-2009's Overall World Champion in Kitesurfing, and current kitesurfing hang time world record holder, performed an astonishing 240-meter kiteboarding tow-up on the Colombia River Gorge, Oregon.

Successfully landing the jump and more importantly safely riding away. Jesse is the first to take a kite to these heights.

"The moment of truth was not lifting off but letting go," says Richman. "Trusting in yourself can be funny at times, especially when you're 790 feet in the air.

But there is nothing we can't do. The view up there was pretty freaking epic -- I can't wait for the next time I'm up there."

The average height a kite surfer experiences is about 6-10 meters.
Because of the lack of height sensor technology in the past, a record kiteboarding height has not been documented.

Jesse made history with a record-breaking 22-second jump in 2007. Jesse went on to win international titles including Overall World Champion in 2008 and 2009, and most recently the 2013 Red Bull King of the year.
